Last chance for ROH Linbury tickets: King Priam 2014

20131121-101250.jpgTickets have gone on sale for the Royal Opera House Linbury studio theatre performances of English Touring Opera’s production of King Priam, in which Ms. Meloy will be singing the role of Queen Hecuba / Athene. ‘O Brave New World: songs from an enchanted island’, a song recital including pieces by Thomas Adès, Benjamin Britten, Dominick Argento, and Jonathan Dove, uses the theme of magic and the supernatural in Shakespeare and other Elizabethan poetry, with art songs and opera arias interwoven with readings from Shakespeare plays and W H Auden’s The Sea and the Mirror. Ms. Meloy and pianist Sarah Wilkinson performed the programme at the Canterbury Festival on Thursday 24 October 2013 at St. Gregory’s Centre for Music.
